If you had an uninterrupted thirty seconds with your MAGA friends and relatives, what would you say? I would say something like this: “Enough! Enough incompetence! Enough lying! Enough whining! Enough chaos! Enough of this cruel conman who will neither uphold the law nor keep us secure. Enough, already! Please come home. Come back to the home planet. We miss you.”
Such a speech might be highly satisfying, but probably not useful. Instead let’s devote our energies to protecting our democracy and stopping Donald Trump's war on our Constitution and the rule of law. Join the Union publishes a searchable database of hundreds of volunteer opportunities from like-minded organizations with on-the-ground programs like voter registration, get-out-the-vote, postcard campaigns, canvassing and other tactics. Then it posts them on a Action Center.
Don’t confine yourself to just Minnesota. There are battleground states with a dire need to motivate and educate the independent and low engagement voters who will decide the election.
You might check out the many postcard programs. Postcards are effective and can be done at your convenience (though if you’re feeling social you can also find “postcard parties”).
