Echoing Marie Antoinette’s famous “Let them eat cake” remark, Donald Trump, when asked about Americans' discontent with rising gasoline prices, reportedly said, “Let them burn kerosene.”

Energy Secretary Chris Wright, a former oil and gas executive, released a statement clarifying the President's remarks, saying “President Trump believes it's in America's strategic interests to convert our gasoline powered engines to clean kerosene. This conversion will save ordinary Americans money while improving the environmental impact caused by gasoline, a fossil fuel."

When reporters pointed out that kerosene is also a fossil fuel, Secretary Wright said, "Yes, but it is well known that kerosene fuel and gasoline come from different fossils."

Be not afraid, Senators. These patriots weren't.

Send your Republican Senators a letter and ask them to consider what future generations will think, what their grandchildren and great grandchildren will think and when they ask, "What did you do when Donald Trump strangled the life out the United States?"
